Extraordinary in any language... Impressions of FEM's 2018 Amsterdam Global Mobility Conference

It really was a buitengewoon day (please excuse my pidgin Dutch) or perhaps außergewöhnlich in German, and ekstraordinær in Danish… In any language, FEM’s 2018 Amsterdam Global Mobility Conference was an extraordinary launch event.

With over 300 delegates and speakers from across the continent, FEM’s first dedicated European conference, the FEM Amsterdam Global Mobility Conference, amply demonstrated the tremendous wealth of talent and expertise across the region. The enthusiasm of the delegates too confirmed what all our hard-working European Chapters have been telling us for some time - there is real appetite for serious debate centred in Europe - and it has a flavour all of its own.

Starting as we meant to go on

Our keynote speaker, Ruud Rikhof flew in from Switzerland to kick off the day in great style by delivering a genuinely thought-provoking and challenging talk on the future of work.

Panel discussions, presentations, case studies, workshops and mobility masterclasses on a huge range of topics followed, with another lively panel debate at the end of the day on creating flexible mobility programs for a new Europe and beyond. Every discussion was well attended and it really was standing-room only in several sessions.

Tell us more

We’ve already received lots of really positive and useful comments, but if you have received our post-event survey and haven’t yet filled it in please do take 5 minutes to do so – we want to keep on making our events even better - and we really appreciate your feedback. Don’t forget too, that by attending FEM Conferences and Summits you also earn CPD points – and you can collect these via the survey.

Do also take a look at the photographs of the day, share your own via Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook and please send us your suggestions for topics for 2019.

FEM would like to thank...

I must thank Sigrid Nauwelaerts, Talent Mobility EMEA Director at Johnson & Johnson for so expertly moderating all the Track B sessions as well as presenting her own Mobility Masterclass and taking part in other discussions. Our grateful thanks also go to all our speakers throughout the day – for providing us all with such an interesting and informative range of perspectives on the many aspects of mobility.

Thanks too of course to all our sponsors and exhibitors who contributed in so many ways to make the event such a success. The exhibition hall was positively buzzing with energy, and all the networking breaks there were really enjoyable and invaluable opportunities to both renew and make new connections.

Thank you for taking part - we look forward to seeing you all again in Amsterdam – 7 March 2019!
