Operationalising Global Mobility: Conversations between HR and Mobility

In today’s economy where companies are increasingly expanding their operations overseas, the need for a global mobility program that houses both the interest of the company and the employee is constantly evolving.

Please join us in February 2018 as we navigate and delve into some of the challenges with operationalising global mobility.

Our panel of speakers have extensive experience working through an evolving global mobility function. In particular, they will share their insight into the need to address the internal structure setup, processes and the technology requirements of a global mobility program. Towards the end of  the session, it would be useful to discuss the challenges different organisations are experiencing especially around processes and discuss what best in class process management would look like.

Speakers:
Julieanne Dernier, International Mobility Consultant at ARUP
Having worked in Arup’s London and Brisbane offices, Julianne has experience in moving individuals and families to, and within, the Asia-Pacific, American and European regions. Throughout her time with Arup, Julianne has contributed to updating and implementing international mobility policies and processes for both existing and new countries.  She has also designed and implemented an in-house International Mobility HRIS and workflow system which tied into the local HRIS.  

Tara Jones, Senior HR Consultant - Global Mobility at Boeing
Tara has 20 years professional experience in HR, 15 years in Global Mobility. A large portion of that time was at Hatch, prior to her heading overseas to experience life in a foreign country, working as a Global Mobility Specialist for a North American company, Stantec. On returning to Australia, Tara joined Boeing’s Global Mobility team. Tara has a GMS designation from ERC Woldwide in addition to her postgraduate HR qualifications.

Monica Phillips, Mobility Lead - Global Projects at Hatch
Monica is responsible for the successful delivery of Mobility systems & assignment data analytics, as well as leading and coordinating continuous improvement throughout the practices internal operations. With over 20 years’ experience in Assignment Management, HR Business Partnering & Team Leadership working in Australia, the UK and the US she is a change manager that is solutions driven and places great value in the benefits of leveraging systems and data to empower and enhance service delivery. Hatch is one of the world's pre-eminent suppliers of technical and strategic services to the Mining, Metallurgical, Energy, and Infrastructure industries, their Mobility Practice is responsible for supporting all aspects of the organisations 500+ International & Domestic Assignment population which span across 20 countries. Fundamental to the success of the Mobility Practice is its ability to maintain a balance between business & financial imperatives & successful people movement, exercising care and concern for all parties at all times.

Aysegul Kayahan

Director, Relocation Specialists

Aysegul Kayahan, managing director of Relocation Specialists in Queensland and Victoria has been in the global mobility industry since 1993. Aysegul started the Forum for Expatriate Management community in Australia in early 2012, with chapters in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. From February 2015 to January 2017, Aysegul was appointed to the role of global chair of Chapter Leads for the Forum for Expatriate Management.
