We all know that Leadership styles and preferences vary greatly across regions, businesses and individuals.

The following infographic from global consulting and recruitment group 'Kelly' has summarised nicely the leadership preferences and satisfaction ratings they found from across the globe, which revealing some interesting findings.

The top 3 of interest for me was;

  • Eight out of the 10 countries who experience the highest levels of leadership dissatisfaction are in Europe, with Italy having the highest rate of dissatisfaction at 36%.
  • The most popular leadership styles are democratic, empowering, empathetic and visionary, with democratic coming out on top and;
  • Forty-eight percent of workers worldwide report they feel inspired by their manager to do their best work, with India having the most inspired and motivated workers.

Using our FEM collective knowledge what do we think?

Is this a reasonably or accurate representation of the attitude to leadership in different countries?

Thanks for sharing Damian. I'd be interested to hear the views of an intercultural expert as I suspect some of the results may be driven by cultural norms.
