The Houston Chapter was founded in 2010. Its general aim is to provide an opportunity, and a forum, for mobility professionals to learn about current issues and industry trends from peers and subject matter experts.
The Houston Chapter is headed by Cara Butler, Vice President, Client Development with Going-there Global Destination Services. Our chapter has quarterly meetings where we discuss such issues as tax and immigration updates, duty of care, payroll, best practices and more. Attendees range from global mobility analysts to senior level management.
Our first meeting of the year focused on the challenges of managing business travellers and rotational assignments. The panel discussed immigration and tax issues that can arise around these two groups, and offered proactive solutions to address them. Topics for future meetings will include discussions on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), and managing assignments in areas affected by political, monetary, and immigration fluctuation.
Those who may be interested in joining the Houston Chapter or attending an upcoming event are welcome to contact Cara Butler for more information.
