Dominican Republic: Visa Suspension Lifted

Following the suspension of the issuance of all visas due to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lifted the suspension. Travelers should expect visa processing delays, as all visas must be approved internally by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the corresponding consulate may grant the visa. The extent of the delays is not known.
The suspension applied to both new and pending visa applications.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Travelers with travel plans to the Dominican Republic for business or work who do not already hold a visa for their trip should expect processing delays until the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides further information.
