Can Employees Really ‘Go Local’?

Our March NYC Chapter meeting: “Can Employees Really ‘Go Local’?” was another successful event at our wonderful host, Furnished Quarters Q&A Hotel, New York City location. A big thank you to our presenters of the night: Sean Luitjens, Strategy and Product Executive Director, of AIRINC, and Lisa Johnson, Global Practice Leader, Consulting Services, of Crown World Mobility.

Attendees gained a unique insight into how organizations have successfully implemented localization programs, so employees really can ‘go local’ when they transfer to another country. Localization, local-to-local, Local Plus mobility approaches aren't new in our industry, however they are gaining popularity because of a few key shifts. Both speakers shared their knowledge on the myths and realities surrounding localized programs; best locations to apply the approach and most common “plus” support items to be concerned about; keys to a successful policy; tips when transitioning from traditional expatriate to local programs; as well as AIRINC’s Mobility Outlook Survey results.
