Non-EU nationals working for a Strategic Service Center (SSC) in the Slovak Republic are now eligible for a shorter Residence Permit processing time of 30 calendar days, compared to the standard processing time of 90 calendar days.  The change is intended to facilitate residency applications and favor sponsoring companies recognized as SSCs.

The Ministry of Economy defines SSCs as branches of foreign or Slovak companies that deliver intracompany services for their mother or sister companies, or for third parties, in the areas of finance, IT services, customer services, HR support services, procurement and sales, among others.

The list of SSCs is currently being created by the Ministry of Economy.  Companies must submit an application to be recognized as an SSC directly to the Ministry.  The processing time for this application is 10 business days. If successful, the company will be informed by letter.

What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
If a company is approved as an SSC, its non-EU national employees working in the Slovak Republic will be eligible for shorter Residence Permit processing times.

Fragomen can assist with the application for the Strategic Service Center list.
