SAREN, the entity in charge of registering and notarizing documents in Venezuela, has suspended all services until further notice. This notification comes after SAREN's offices were set on fire during recent protests.

SAREN (Servicio Autónomo de Registros y Notarías), the entity in charge of registering and notarizing documents in Venezuela, has suspended all services until further notice. This notification comes after SAREN's offices were set on fire during recent protests. The fire has damaged SAREN's IT platform, which has severely impacted their operations.  SAREN cannot provide any services at this time.  Venezuelan authorities have not yet provided an estimate date to fix the IT platform.

What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
This impacts foreign nationals who need to notarize, legalize and/or apostille personal documents such as offer letters, university degrees, birth certificates and marriage certificates for use abroad.
