Authorities have confirmed that additional nationalities must register with the Immigration Authority or a respective police station with an Immigration Department desk, within seven days of each entry into Egypt. This requirement applies to holders of all categories of visas, including business, tourist and work visas as well as Egyptian residency permits.
Upon registration, affected individuals must present the original passport they used to enter Egypt.

Since an official list of affected nationalities has not been published, additional nationalities may currently be and may become subject to this registration requirement.
Penalties for Noncompliance
Failure to comply with the registration requirement may result in departure issues, inability to obtain Residency Visa endorsement and/or fines ranging from EGP 350 to EGP 1,500.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Nationals of the above 36 countries, and possibly others, now face an extra administrative hurdle after entering Egypt. Foreign nationals seeking to enter Egypt should consult with their immigration professional for advice on whether they are subject to this registration requirement, and are advised to validate the registration requirement with an immigration officer upon arrival in Egypt.
