The situation

Visa-on-arrival holders subject to new change of status process.

A closer look
Effective immediately, foreign nationals who entered Qatar based on a visit visa-on-arrival can no longer change their immigration status to residency or employment in country.
Foreign nationals seeking to convert their dependent family visit visa to a dependent family residency permit are not affected by this change.
