Venezuela: Passport Extensions Available Due to Shortage of New Passport Materials

Due to a shortage of materials needed to create new passports, the Venezuelan government has authorized eligible current passport holders to apply for a two-year extension that will begin upon the expiration of the current passport.

Due to a shortage of materials needed to create new passports, the Venezuelan government has authorized eligible current passport holders to apply for a two-year extension that will begin upon the expiration of the current passport.

  • Extension eligibility. For Venezuelan passports that have expired or  expire soon.
  • Online application system. Applications must be initiated through an online system.
  • Passports must be in good condition. Damaged passports or passports without remaining visa pages cannot be renewed using this method.
  • How Fragomen will assist. Affected foreign nationals should contact their immigration professional to determine whether they are eligible for the extension.
