System for registering visa and residence permit appointments shut down

A closer look
Effective November 1, 2017, the Visapoint system, which allows foreign nationals to register appointments to submit applications for visas and residence permits, has been shut down in all Czech consulates that were using the Visapoint system.

  • New registration system. A new registration system to submit applications for visas and residence permits will be implemented December 1, 2017. Detailed information on the system will be released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 24, 2017.
  • Impact. Foreign nationals who scheduled appointments prior to today for November 1 through November 30, 2017 are unaffected, and their appointments will go forward. Foreign nationals who need to schedule an appointment starting today will have to wait until December 1, 2017. This will delay visa and residence permit application processing since an appointment is required to complete both processes.
