The website for the Ministry of Home Affairs in Venezuela is currently inoperable, preventing Venezuelan nationals and foreign nationals from obtaining police clearance certificates.

The situation

The website for the Ministry of Home Affairs in Venezuela is currently inoperable.

Impact

Applicants in the following situations may require a police clearance certificate and so may be affected by the outage:

  • Venezuelan nationals applying for an immigration process abroad; and
  • Foreign nationals who have resided in Venezuela who require a Venezuelan police clearance for an immigration process abroad.

At this time there are no alternatives or emergency options available to obtain a police clearance certificate and there is no indication of when the website will operate normally. The Ministry recommends that applicants continue to try to access the website.

Looking ahead

Fragomen will monitor the website and will provide an update when it is again operable.
