• Foreign nationals entering the United Arab Emirates under a short-term visitor visa-on-arrival will receive a single-entry visa valid for up to 30 days each stay. • Visa-on-arrival holders will be less likely to face overstay fines for mistakenly staying in the country over the previous total allowable stay of 30 days cumulatively for all visits.

The situation

Effective immediately, foreign nationals travelling to the United Arab Emirates under a short-term visitor visa-on-arrival will benefit from the issuance of a single-entry visa for up to 30 days per stay, instead of a multiple-entry visa that only allowed a 30-day total stay in cases when re-entry was made within the validity of the previous visa.

Holders of the visa can obtain one in-country 30-day extension.

Eligibility

Nationals of 16 countries, including Australia, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States are currently eligible for this visa category.

Impact

Visa-on-arrival holders will be less likely to face overstay fines for mistakenly staying in the country over the previous total allowable stay of 30 days cumulatively for all visits.
