Medical staff will soon be exempt from Tier 2 quotas for skilled non-EU workers, which should result in higher overall approval rates and faster processing for these workers.

Other industries should also benefit from the change, as removing medical workers from the quota system is expected to mean that other skilled workers would be granted certificates of sponsorship. The Home Office also announced a series of technical changes to Tiers 1, 2, and 4.
