How long have you been involved in the Global Mobility sector?
I have been involved in global mobility for over 30 years. I started my career in the Australian Defense Force and have first hand experience in moving people around.
More recently, in my capacity of CEO of People Builders, I have worked with many individuals and organisations over the past 10 years in supporting their global workforce.
What changes have you seen in that time?
The world has changed so much, particularly since 9/11. We have so many more pressures to support people through than we did years ago. We now live in a more volatile, uncertain, ambiguous and complex environment. People more than ever need to be empowered way beyond the technical skills required to fulfil their role.
What do you think are the three greatest challenges facing Global Mobility professionals in the Asia Pacific region today?
- The speed of change
- Stress management
- Technology balance
What are the key messages you hope delegates take away from your session?
- Leadership is about ‘being’, not just ‘doing’
- Self-Leadership is the first priority
- Leadership has changed, and we need to evolve
