Immigration 2020: What is new and what continues to challenge you?
After almost three years of change to the employer sponsored immigration programs, employers continue to face challenges in recruiting and retaining talent from overseas in the face of restrictive government policies. We will aim to provide an overview of the latest changes to the migration program and discuss some of the common challenges with the TSS and 400 visa programs.
We will begin by providing an overview of two new programs introduced at the end of 2019; the Global Talent Independent and Employer Sponsored programs which can assist in attracting top talent and offering pathways to permanent residence, and the new Regional Visa framework which provides options for business with regional operations.
We will then use case studies to highlight some of the ongoing challenges with the TSS visa program, primarily relating to labour market testing, and the use of 400 visas for short term assignments and interaction with the TSS.
This is also an opportunity to discuss current issues with your peers and to have your most pressing questions answered so please come ready with questions, whatever they are, and we will aim to provide answers to help kick off 2020.
