Effective immediately, the Nicaraguan Immigration Directorate (DGME) requires all foreign nationals entering the country for purposes other than tourism to submit an entry request form at least seven days prior to travel. Those without the form will not be allowed entry into Nicaragua.
Entry Request Steps
1. Download and complete the form and have the host company representative sign it. In cases when there are more than one traveler, a document listing the below information for each foreign national can be uploaded:
• Full name
• Passport or identification number
• Nationality
• Date of birth
2. Once completed, the form must be sent to the following two email addresses: preyes@migob.gob.ni and solicitudes@migob.gob.ni
3. The DGME will notify the applicant(s) and the relevant entry points indicated in the form once the request is approved.
4. The foreign national should bring the approval form to the entry point.
This process applies to nationals of all countries and is free of charge.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals should consider the time it takes to obtain the host company representative's signature on this form as well as the at least seven-day processing time when planning their entry into Nicaragua.
