The situation
Temporary residents and their dependents are subject to an easier entry process.
A closer look
A recent circular issued by the immigration authorities (DGME) cancels a recent change that required temporary residents working in accredited companies and their dependents to submit their fingerprints and complete consular registration prior to filing for a Temporary Residence for Accredited Companies application.
According to the circular, this change also applies to foreign nationals under all immigration categories and their dependents.
Background
Due to company backlash after the implementation of the stricter entry process, immigration authorities reverted to a more relaxed entry policy for temporary residents in accredited companies.
In an effort to implement consistent rules, the authorities have simultaneously relaxed the rule for all immigration categories.
What this means for temporary residents
This change unifies the timing of the fingerprinting and consular registration for all temporary residents.
