Qatar: Visa-on-Arrival Holders Must Exit to Change Status

Due to a policy change, foreign nationals who entered Qatar under a visit visa-on-arrival who seek to change their status must exit and re-enter the country after obtaining the appropriate entry permit.

Visa-on-arrival holders subject to new change of status process.

A closer look
Effective immediately, foreign nationals who entered Qatar based on a visit visa-on-arrival can no longer change their immigration status to residency or employment in country.
Foreign nationals seeking to convert their dependent family visit visa to a dependent family residency permit are not affected by this change.

Foreign nationals who entered Qatar under a visit visa-on-arrival who seek to change their status must exit and re-enter the country after obtaining the appropriate entry permit.
