The situation
Employers must submit their returns, which are bi-annual reports of foreign workers, by December 31 in compliance with the Tanzanian Non-Citizens Act of 2015 which requires biannual submission of returns.
A closer look
- Details of the return. The return must include the total number of foreign nationals and local employees currently employed, as well as those who have left the company in the past six months.
- Failure to comply. Failure to meet the deadline may result in the Labor Commissioner declaring the employer as non-compliant and which could negatively affect the ability of the employer to continue to sponsor foreign nationals.
