Rick Verhage, Manager, Global Mobility - ANZ, Australia New Zealand
Rick has 13 years in the Banking industry and 20 years as an IHRM professional. Currently, he is the Global Mobility Lead for AECOM in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island region. He manages the AECOM domestic and international mobility framework including relocation, risk management, tax/immigration compliance, policy design, vendor management, project/bid resourcing, and employee development. It incorporates entering into new markets, operating in high-risk locations, designing new mobility solutions and ensuring AECOM’s core values are upheld at all times.
Heather Williams, Senior Manager, International Mobility, ANZ
Heather is a seasoned business professional based in Melbourne and manages ANZ’s global mobility function. She has a 360-degree lens over the world of international mobility and since 1980 has lived and worked in four countries and most of Australia, and has experienced a number of assignment types. Her work experience includes managing ‘remote site’ international assignee populations, and managing head offi ce international mobility functions and logistics for a variety of global organisations. Heather has worked in a variety of industries including financial services, mining and resources, fashion, hospitality, retail, health, and professional services.
Karen Spencer, Account Director, Global Employer Services, Deloitte
Karen has over 10 years’ experience providing global mobility advisory and taxation services, within both a Big 4 firm and in-house corporate environment. She has specialised in advising corporates operating in the Energy and Natural Resources industries.
Karen has managed numerous expatriate tax compliance programs and has advised corporate clients on complex tax and assignment policy related issues, including employee and employer compliance obligations (employee share and option schemes, superannuation, Fringe Benefits Tax, compensation structuring and salary packaging) together with risk and reputational considerations that arise from the global deployment of employees.
Paul Rubinstein, Partner, Global Employer Services, Deloitte
Paul has over 15 years’ experience in providing companies with expatriate tax compliance and consulting solutions, advising on complex tax issues including tax effective remuneration packaging, employee share plans, pensions, and termination of employment issues. He has also advised on and drafted global mobility policies for a number of multinational companies. Paul has a passion for technology and innovation, and has been involved in the development and implementation of several tax and global mobility technology products and services.
