Working in Singapore, Hong Kong and The Philippines, and managing employees and assignees in the very different sectors of finance, manufacturing, design & engineering and retail goods, each of our speakers is managing an array of testing challenges created by the Coronavirus crisis. 

As we all know, the outbreak first began in China at the end of 2019, and quickly spread across borders, so our panelists have very much been in the frontline and as cases in China and the region as a whole have thankfully so far, receded, these Global Mobility and HR leaders are now witnessing the wider consequences of the situation.

Emmarie P. Castañeda, Global Mobility Manager – Asia, Unilever

Marie is a leader of leaders, guiding teams managing the whole employee life cycle of the Asia expatriate population in Unilever. This involves working on strategies to keep the company’s policies market-competitive and improving processes with agility in an ever-changing environment. Over the course of nearly a decade, Marie has built a strong track record on global mobility policy and operations. Prior to Unilever, Marie was International Mobility Manager for Australia New Zealand Bank (ANZ) for five years and, previous to this, spent four of her 13 years in the energy company Chevron as Global Mobility Operations Counselor and Processing Supervisor. As a certified Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), Marie is adept to global trends not only in the mobility world but in international human resources as a greater function. She also works on collaborative projects for the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).

Unfortunately, Archana Srinivasan, Head of Human Resources, Asia, at Atkins (a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group) is now unable to join the panel, but her colleague, Nandakumar Kirupanadam, (see below) has kindly joined the panel in her place.

Nandakumar Kirupanandam, Head of International Assignments, WS Atkins (India) 

Nandakumar has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources, more than 15 of which have been in Global Mobility.As Head of International Assignments at Atkins, (Reporting to Group Rewards Head) he is in a key strategic role responsible for establishing and leading a newly created International Assignments Team part of shared services.

Leading the systems integration and implementation of workday, Oracle and Apro he is also working on Global and leads operational excellence for HR Shared Services. Nandakumar has previously held roles at Capgemini India, Logica, Deloitte and Honeywell. He also has an MSW (Personnel Management & Industrial Relations), Full Time, 1998, I Class - Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, Tamilnadu, India, a Diploma in Labour law and Administrative Law, from Annamalai University, Tamilnadu, India, PG Diploma in Counseling, from Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, Tamilnadu, India and a BA English Literature, from the American College, Madurai, Tamilnadu, India.

Aditya Luthra  Security Director – Security Solutions, Asia Pacific, International SOS

As International SOS’ Security Solutions Director for Asia Pacific, Aditya Luthra leads client engagements in the region, developing bespoke solutions in support of organisations and managing their travel risk mitigation strategies, policies and procedures. Prior to his current role, Aditya headed the security intelligence team in Asia Pacific, and responsible for planning and intelligence delivery.  He also built and managed strategic partnerships with government entities and local information providers (journalists, academics, and logistics and security organisations) to further enhance the quality of International SOS’s intelligence output. Aditya has also overseen incident management teams and clients on the ground during crises and emergencies. 

Aditya has a Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School, where his research focused on militancy in Pakistan’s tribal belt. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine.


Shazy Tan, Global Mobility Manager, Dyson

Shazy is Dyson’s Global Mobility Manager based in Singapore. In this role, Shazy is involved with daily operations as well as strategic projects involving cross-border moves. She also maintains stakeholder and supplier relations and manages quality assurance and operational excellence among many other responsibilities. Shazy’s Global Mobility career over the last 9 years has spanned several industries including electronic manufacturing, business solutions, hospitality and banking. Through the years, Shazy had the opportunity to be a part of multiple HR Transformations and Policy reviews. 

Maggie Zhang, Chief HR Officer at AIG, International General Insurance

Maggie Zhang joined AIG as HR Lead, North Asia and Head of HR, Hong Kong in December, 2014. She was appointed as Chief HR Officer for International GI business in Feb 2018. Maggie is also shepherding the D&I teams in the geographies globally on top of her International HR lead role. Prior to AIG, Maggie has held different senior positions in Standard Chartered Bank and worked in the main financial centres in Asia including Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Maggie holds a MBA degree from Fudan University. In 2017 Maggie was the recipient of the FEM APAC EMMA for her Outstanding Contribution to Global Mobility.

Global Director, Content & Events, Forum for Expatriate Management

Claire Tennant-Scull is Global Director of Content & Events at the Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM). She produces and chairs all FEM’s Conferences and Summits in Amsterdam, the Americas, APAC and EMEA and oversees FEM's global awards (EMMAs). Claire works closely with key clients, leads FEM’s London Chapter and oversees the FEM website, reports and publications. In addition to her experience in Global Mobility, Claire has more than 20 years’ expertise in publishing, working as a managing editor, writer, journalist and broadcaster, both in the print and digital world.
