About Sonya Weisshappel

Sonya Weisshappel is the founder and CEO of Seriatim, Inc., a boutique move management and professional organizing firm she established in New York City in 1999. Proudly dyslexic, Sonya launched Seriatim partly to avoid writing a traditional resume; nearly three decades later, she and her team have earned a reputation as the original “Chaos Whisperers,” guiding high-net-worth individuals, families, and their advisors through life’s major transitions with discretion, empathy, and precision. Seriatim specializes in downsizing, relocation, estate clearing, comprehensive digital inventories, archival documentation, paper and photo management, sensitive decluttering, and seamless logistics—partnering closely with financial professionals, estate attorneys, trustees, and real estate teams to deliver accurate asset inventories, provenance research, valuation coordination, and support for fiduciary responsibilities, tax preparation, insurance compliance, and equitable distribution. In 2017, Sonya became the first professional organizer accepted into the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. She served as President of the New York Council of Relocation Professionals (NYCORP) from 2016 to 2025 and is the author of Confessions of a Chaos Whisperer (Post Hill Press, 2024).

Originally from San Francisco, Sonya grew up in New York City and now lives part-time in Rhode Island, where she enjoys family time and long walks with her rescue dog, Finn. Seriatim’s philosophy centers on treating every object as if it were a family heirloom—each piece carries stories, memories, and meaning that deserve careful handling during times of change. Whether helping a client prepare a home for sale, navigate an estate settlement, or move to a new chapter, the team focuses on reducing overwhelm, protecting legacy, and creating calm amid chaos so clients can move forward with confidence and peace of mind.
