Leading Asia Pacific figures met to discuss workforce Global Mobility

On 7 September, The Harbour Grand Hotel, Hong Kong hosted the annual Forum for Expatriate Management APAC Summit, and leading figures from multinational brands spoke to senior HR and Global Mobility professionals drawn from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond.  We were delighted to see lots of new faces there this year and it was great to see so much Asia Pacific talent in evidence!

"Global mobility has evolved a lot and continues to evolve, especially living in the world where things are uncertain, complex and volatile"
Sriram Ramkumar, Head International Mobility, Shares & Benefits Operations at Standard Chartered Bank

This year’s, FEM APAC Summit featured speakers from major brands who are each distinguished within the profession.

Here were just a few:

  • Michelle Tai, Global Mobility Director, at Mars and Joanne Yee, Regional Mobility Manager, APAC & MEA at Bayer discussed how global mobility strategy is driving global talent outcomes and how mobility can be the blueprint for change.
  • Maggie Zang, Regional Head of HR, North Asia and Hong Kong at AIG Insurance Hong Kong Ltd, spoke on a panel alongside other experts from AXA Asia, Société Générale and the People Builders about the ‘future workplace’, rapidly-evolving technology and its implications for global mobility.
  • Senior figures from Holcim, EY, PPG and Fonterra explored regional mobility challenges in the context of business expansion, including the consequences of the recent removal of Australia’s 457 visa.
  • Immigration experts Fragomen, examined the latest global economic and political trends and their impact on immigration regulations in the Asia Pacific region.

Speakers at this Summit had been drawn from a range of industries and sectors and all had extensive experience across the APAC region so they really understood the complexities of the challenges that global mobility professionals face.

FEM would like to thank all our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and of course - our great attendees for making this APAC Summit such a huge success.

Taking place alongside the Summit, was the EMMAs (Expatriate Management and Mobility Awards), an evening dedicated to celebrating success, best practice and outstanding contribution to global mobility. View the 2017 APAC Winners here
