Simon Baker welcomed the participants, followed by a highly insightful presentation from Kemi Ajisafe of Takeda, who shared their journey in digitalising Global Mobility. It was fascinating to learn about their approach and progress. Benjamin Oghene from The Cozm then demonstrated the current capabilities of AI in supporting Global Mobility functions. His case study was particularly impactful in illustrating the tangible effects of new technologies on the field.

Romuald Roger from Lonza rounded off the speaker session by presenting Lonza’s Global Mobility journey. His insights into managing constant change, adapting to evolving business needs, and the importance of proactive communication with business units to foster transformation were especially valuable.

After the presentations, participants continued to discuss the topics over a networking apéro with drinks and finger food, generously provided by Roche. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and establish new connections.

Key Learnings:

  • The business environment is evolving rapidly – and so is Global Mobility.
  • Transformation is already underway. The adoption of emerging technologies such as AI presents a significant opportunity for Global Mobility teams to redefine their roles and add future value to their organisations.
  • Complexity is increasing, from employee experience to regulatory frameworks and business demands.
  • Traditional assignments are declining, while new forms of cross-border employment are on the rise.
  • One major challenge for many Global Mobility professionals is balancing operational responsibilities with the strategic need to shape their future roles, especially amid limited resources.
  • With the right mindset, strategy, and adaptability, the evolving role of Global Mobility offers numerous opportunities to contribute meaningfully to global talent strategies.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers for sharing their insights, sparking new ideas, and inspiring the community. Special thanks to our host Roche, Simon Baker and his team, and to our supporters: Tracy Kautzmann from Impact Group, Elizabeth Conti from BDO, and Jenny Elsby from WHR Global.

We look forward to welcoming you to our next Swiss Chapter Meeting in Geneva on 6 November.
