See Part One - and some images and details of the morning sessions here
At FEM we are always delighted to see so many long-established friends and colleagues at our events, but we were also especially pleased this year to welcome a host of Global Mobility and HR professionals who had never attended one of our major events before. We hope to see them all again next year.
Levels of engagement throughout the day were exceptionally high and we had some really probing questions and shrewd observations from the audience - for which we are most grateful.
After a satisfying lunch, we began the afternoon's deliberations with a lively panel discussion, examining how to balance employee experience with business needs, agility with compliance, and how to measure success. With a fantastic line-up of speakers from some of the Netherlands' most influential companies as well as specialists with a great client overview we debated: Focus on the Future - Global Mobility as a Force for Growth.
Delegates then had a choice of topics, with Risk in Global Mobility: Meeting the Challenges - and the Future in the Ballroom, chaired by John Rason of Santa Fe.
And in the Griffieon Room, Gareth Davies of Equus Software and Ashleigh Broedelet of Booking.com explored ways of Aligning Mobility & Talent Strategy.
The afternoon break saw delegates catching up with peers and getting to know some new contacts...
There was also time to consult on tricky challenges...
Take advantage of a fresh and healthy snack...
Or even take a light-hearted approach and sit for a caricature.
Then it was time to dash back to the plenary room for the last two sessions of the day!
In the midst of so much uncertainty about the Coronavirus we were also glad to offer delegates the chance to attend a special update from Dr. Lars Petersen, an expert medical professional and put their questions to him: Coronavirus Disease - COVID-19
Finally, we moved on to our closing panel: Talent Spotting - Unlocking Potential in Your Organization.
We had really intelligent and probing questions from the audience covering issues such as providing better opportunities for women to become assignees, the value of older (and returning) workers and of the importance of sourcing talent from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
Discussions were concluded on a positive note and after a day packed with challenging ideas and debates, it was time to relax over a drink or two.
Our Round the World Passport Competition and €260 in cash was won by a very happy delegate! Proceedings were overseen by FEM Sales Manager, Aiden Powell, (right) and Robert Lesser, (left) recipient of the 2019 Americas EMMA for his Outstanding Contribution to Global Mobility, and who very kindly flew in from the USA to help chair the conference.
Special thanks to Robert Lesser for his very kind support throughout the day.
Many thanks again to all our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates. We look forward to seeing everyone again in Amsterdam in 2021!
