I have been having briefing calls with many of our speakers and am confident that the real discussions on 7th September will be really fascinating.

There are so many challenges in the global mobility industry at the moment – but there are tremendous opportunities too – and so at this Summit we will not only explore the difficulties of moving people and business across the Asia Pacific region, but also share real-life case studies and high-level expert insight.

With a combination of keynote panel sessions, roundtable discussions, presentations and interactive workshops, and speakers drawn from across Asia and Australasia, we will be able to examine the key concerns and offer practical advice for delegates to implement within their own strategies.

It can be hard to take time out from the office sometimes – but if it is time spent at an intensive day of learning and collaboration then I think it is time well invested.

Here are just some of the highlights from the Agenda:

Our opening panel will be:

Regional mobility challenges in the context of business expansion
This session explores net movement and the challenges associated with a variety of APAC locations including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Japan.

  • Where are the net losses and net gains in associated APAC locations? What are the expectations of challenging regions such as China and Indonesia, particularly moving towards Tier 2 and 3 destinations in China?
  • Is the profile of assignees changing in assorted locations? Is the ‘expat model’ still a realistic representation of APAC mobility?
  • How can you manage tax compliance for short term assignments and business travellers within Asia, as well as Base Erosion and Profit Shifting?

Head of Content & Events Director, Forum for Expatriate Management

Claire Tennant-Scull is Head of Content and acting Events Director at the Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM). She chairs all FEM’s Conferences and Summits in the Americas, APAC and EMEA. Claire also leads FEM’s London Chapter and manages the FEM website and associated reports. Claire has more than 20 years’ experience in publishing, working as a managing editor, writer, journalist and broadcaster, both in the print and digital world. She has worked for major publishing houses and was previously the Online Editor at a respected global mobility publisher. Claire is always keen to meet new members and to broaden the FEM community.
