FEM is proud to announce that the first Africa Online Chapter Meeting will be held on Tuesday 17th August at 04:00 pm (Johannesburg time). 

The FEM Africa Chapter is led by Marisa Jacobs, MD of Xpatweb and is ready to welcome new members.

To comply with Covid safety, the inaugural meeting will be online and is free to join.

Meet the speakers:

Marisa Jacobs (BCom Marketing and Business Management), Managing Director at Xpatweb

Marisa Jacobs heads-up Immigration and International Mobility. Her areas of speciality include South Africa work permits, especially for employers with large groups of employees which requires short-term employment service visas, unique dispensations or special waivers of work permit conditions. Her solution-based services extend to operating and managing a confidential payroll for various employee groups, Reserve Bank clearances for employees, foreign bank account payments and she is passionate about finding more streamlined solutions.

Jashwin Baijoo, Legal Manager for Africa Tax and Compliance for Tax Consulting SA,

Jashwin Baijoo, is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, and holds an LLB from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, while currently pursuing his Masters in Tax and International Business Law at the University of Witwatersrand. He specialises in cross-border tax advisory, company incorporations and compliance, and international regulatory applications and procurement, with the assistance of his vast network of partners across Africa. On the South African front, Jashwin also heads up the Tax Debts unit, engaging with SARS on a daily basis to get taxpayer’s the relief needed to obtain compliance and settle their tax debts.

 

Phindiwe Mbhele, Director of Corporate Accounts - Department of Home Affairs

Mr Phindiwe Mbhele is the Director at Home Affairs in the Immigration branch responsible for stakeholder relations management between the Department and corporate entities, corporate employers and institution of higher learning regarding temporary residence visa matters as well as assisting and advising corporate employers who have the intention to positively contribute to South Africa's economic growth through the employment of needed foreign labour, the entry of exceptionally skilled or qualified people and the promotion of tourism. Mr. Mbhele heads the Corporate Accounts directorate and is also the Home Affairs director responsible for the management of Home Affairs offices anchored by Visa Facilitation Services at the One Stop Shop (OSS) centres now formally known as InvestSA One Stop Shops.
